The Personal Side:
Dennis grew up in California, had a one-year visit to Thailand courtesy of Uncle Sam, and moved to Colorado when he was stationed at Fort Carson. As someone who has lived in Colorado now for over 40 years, he is firmly ensconced in his semi-native status.
Dennis knows and loves the West. Earlier in life, he was an avid kayaker and backpacker. Even though he continues to love wild rivers and wild lands of the West, now he pursues, often with Polly, his wife and best friend, his interests in sailing, bicycling, fishing, and woodworking.
Dennis’ work experience reflects his passion for the West and his interest in natural resource and environmental issues from mining and open space to water and wildlife. His work experience combined with academic training in business, urban and regional planning, and economics give him a creative, yet pragmatic approach to his work with public and nonprofit sector managers.
For the past 20 plus years, Dennis and his family have resided in Boulder, Colorado. Polly and Dennis have two children, Cate and Robert, both of whom are quickly growing into fine young adults and beginning to pursue their own interests. The family migrates to Maine each summer where they enjoy extended family, sailing, cold water, and watching ospreys dive, cry and raise their young.
